Day 35 - These boots have done some walkin'.....800km to be exact. What a great journey it was!


You will see in the picture our Pilgrim Passports which we had stamped at each day to qualify us for the Compostela Certificate (also in pic.)
We will spend tomorrow here in Santiago and then with our Darwin mates we are off to Finisterre on the coast for a couple of days before heading to Portugal.

Day 35 - Just arrived at Santiago Cathedral after 5 weeks and 800km of walking.

We all went out for a celebratory dinner. The bond between fellow pilgrims in this group was amazingly strong.

Day 33 - Palas de Rei to Ribadiso (25.6km) - 2 days / 42km to go.

Day 33 - Eric (and his wife) from New Mexico has ridden from Bordeaux in France and was expecting to arrive in Santiago later today = 1500km


Day 33 - the town/area is famous for its regional specialty of octopus pulpo. Here is the local restaurant where we ate preparing octopus for the table.

Day 31 - Sarria to Portomarin (22.1km) - 4 days to finish line.


Spanish pillows are ......different. It is one long pillow that is the full width of the bed.

Day 30 - Triacastela to Sarria (18.7 km) - glorious weather, beautiful scenery, easy day!! :) Plan to be in Santiago, our final destination, next Tuesday (28/4), so 5 days to go. Could be that we are just starting to count. :)


Great to be walking again and foot feeling heaps better. Just carrying day pack for a couple of days and sending main pack ahead.
Looks like the next couple of days are going to be a bit ugly. Thank goodness for the right gear. Stay tuned, might see the return of the "drowned rat".
