This spot is just next to the lighthouse and is where camino pilgrims more recently have begun to burn something old as a symbolic gesture to cleanse themselves. Traditionally however the original pilgrims burnt their travelling clothes at the Santiago Cathedral because they were putrid after their long walk. The church would then provide them with fresh clothes.
